This hotel was a bit difficult to get to from Houston. It's not far at all from the airport but when returning a rental car your at the otherend of the airport. We arrived late at night and our room ended up being on the 3rd floor which was a bit inconvient especially with 5 kids. The room was very spacious. Had to ask for sheets for the sofa sleeper which I felt should have been readily available in the room even if it possible wasn't being used. The front desk clerk could have been a bit more helpful when asking for a luggage cart he didn't even bother to locate one for us.

The hotel is located on the service road along a strip of other hotels, but they are all isolated from restaurants and shopping by a considerable distance. Since the free airport shuttle will not take a person anywhere else, you need to rent a vehicle. They have free parking for guests. With a vehicle, you are only 5-6 miles from the Grapevine Mall and Outdoor World and the many restuarants around there. The room on the third floor was spacious, with 14 foot ceilings and sky lights so that you did not require additional lights during the day. The king-sized bed was comfortable. The closet had ten hangers and held everything I had. The refrigerator and microwave were clean and worked fine. Both TV's worked but a previous guest had programmed the one in the bedroom to skip over FNC when flipping through the channels. I had to look it up on the list and punch in the channel each time I wanted to see the news. On my last night, some kid pulled the fire alarm at 1:45 AM. It took the fire department 15 minutes to arrive and another 15 to allow us to return to the hotel. In the mean time, all the guests were in various states of dress out in the parking lot. The nighttime staff did a poor job of informing us as to what was going on. No one seemed to know anything the next morning, either. They served sausages or bacon each morning, along with the usual scrambled, powdered eggs and other choices. The business room was more of a broom closet with a computer in it. You have to ask the desk for printer paper, and they give you 5 sheets at a time.

We stayed one night and left our car at the hotel when we flew out on vacation -- the staff was very helpful and the room was clean and nicely appointed. Breakfast had a good variety and had very good bacon, eggs, and biscuits in addition to the usual danish, muffins, cereal, etc.
